Cornbread mix
Ingredients:
- Sugar
- Stoneground flour
- Mealie Meal
- Baking Powder
- Sea Salt
What you will need extra:
- 1 Large Egg
- 250ml Milk
- 125ml vegetable oil
Method
- Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees celcius.
- Lightly beat the egg and then add the milk and oil and beat until mixed.
- Empty the contents of the packet into the egg mixture and mix.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased oven proof dish.
- You can decide if you want to use a round dish and cut it like a tart when baked or use a rectangular dish and cut it into strips.
- This is more a sweet bread/tart than a fluffy bread.
Variation ingredients:
Add a cup of grated cheese to your batter for a taste variation.
