Scone Mix
Ingredients:
- The Easy Life Pantry Gluten Free Flour Mix
- Sugar,
- Baking Powder
- Bicarbonate of soda
- Sea Salt
- Cream of tartar
What you will need extra:
- 140 g (โ Cup) Butter, cut into small pieces
- 250 ml (1 Cup) Milk
- 1 large egg, beaten
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Grease a baking tray.
- Empty contents of this packet into a food processor and add the butter.
- Pulse until butter and dry ingredients are incorporated and resembles crumbs.
- Place this crumbly mixture into a mixing bowl and make a well in the middle of the mixture.
- Add the milk (and extra variation ingredients) to the well and mix with two knives by cutting through the mixture. This is a lumpy dough.
- Place dough onto a floured surface and press lightly together until about 2cm thick. Cut out scones or form 1 large round scone that can be cut into wedges before baking.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes depending on thickness and if it is small scones or 1 large scone.
- Serve while still warm with some Easy Life Pantry Strawberry Preserve and cheese!

Variations:
Add 1 cup grated cheese or biltong or spring onion for a savory alternative OR add 125ml to 250ml berries such as blueberries or raspberries for a sweet alternative. Enjoy
